Dr. Evelyn Aremu
Dr. Evelyn Aremu is a graduate of University of Ibadan, Nigeria where she bagged B.Sc. (Hons.) Botany and M.Sc. in Crop Protection & Environmental Biology. She obtained an MBA and a Masters in Teaching Science from University of Ilorin, Nigeria and Western Governors University, Salt Lake City, Utah respectively. A recipient of the Japanese government scholarship, she earned a PhD in Bioenvironmental Science from Tottori University, Japan. Evelyn, an erudite science teacher, has broad experience working across multicultural and multiethnic settings of Africa, Asia and America.
Evelyn served six years as editor for the Online Newsletter of the Graduate Women International (GWI), Young Member Network, formerly, International Federation of University Women (IFUW). She also contributed to the IFUW’s Handbook titled “The Multi-Faceted Right to Education: A Guide to Implementation and Monitoring” as a member of the Working Group on Education Advocacy. Evelyn has also served as a member of the development team for Women First, formerly the Virginia Gildersleeve International Fund (VGIF), a leading authority on small grant funding to empower women and girls in developing countries. These women-led agencies provide and help empower women and girls, addressing specific challenges faced by women and girls in developing countries around the world.
Evelyn volunteers her time counseling and is passionate about having adolescents realize early their individuality. She is into advocating for youth development initiatives and empowerment programs in her hometown community. Evelyn is a member of several boards, including Sugar Hill Area Women’s club and Good News club of Gwinnett. Her belief in the JCI Creed, truly finds service to humanity to be the best work of life. Evelyn is married and blessed with three boys. Evelyn supports her husband in the hospitality, tourism and real estate family business and enjoys travelling, hiking and reading.
