Mrs Rita Ofure Obidike is the Managing Director of Discovery Travel & Tours Ltd. A position she has held since the company was incorporated in 2002. And President, Skal International, Lagos – Skal is the only international travel, tourism and hospitality organization in the world, founded in 1934

A graduate of Languages & Literary Studies (1991) & Masters in International Relations & Strategic Studies (1994). Her first job was as a journalist, an experience she acquired in Jos, during her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). Amongst others, she worked in the Public Relations Section of African Petroleum (former British Petroleum), a multi-national oil marketing Company, before branching off to her dream career in the travel and tour industry. She has several years of experience as a consultant in the travel and tourism business.

She is a member of the American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA), as a community enthusiast, she is the immediate Past Vice-Chairman, Victoria Garden City, Property & Residents Association (VGCPORA) and the Current Chairman of Victoria Garden City Mall Owners & Occupants Association (VGCMOOA).

In recognition of her contribution towards the travel and tourism industry, she is certified as a tourism personality of the year 2019, in the Top 100 Tourism Personalities in Nigeria organized by African Travelers Quarterly (AKWAABA) in 2019. In the same vein she was recently honored as the Balearica Industry Icon by the Nigeria Tourism Awards (The Balearica Awards-2019). In 2019, in recognition of her leadership role, she was made a life Patroness of the Rotary Club of Ikorodu Golden.

Mrs. Obidike has a passion for the Travel and Tourism industry as much as she has a passion and respect for humanity and family. She is happily married with children.
