Akinwale Akinlabi is a legal practitioner and arbitrator. He is the Managing Partner of Wale Akinlabi & Partners (Lawpoint Chambers) and the Publisher of IbarapaWatch. He is also the Director of Mimbar Children School, and Mimbar College, both in New Bodija, Ibadan. He is equally a Director at BaytulLah Travels. Wale is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK).
He bagged two first degrees, Chemistry and Law, respectively from the University of Ibadan and Masters’ degrees in Law from the same institution and MBA from the Lagos Business School. He had also taken courses in International Pan African Module at the IESE Business School, Barcelona, and also three certificates in Arabic proficiency (listening, speaking, and writing) over a 3-year short course at the Cairo Arabic Centre under the auspices of the Council of Europe Language Policy.
Akinwale had also attended five modules (January 2018, June 2018, January 2019, June 2019), January 2020 and May 2021) at the Pan African Doctoral Academy (PADA) at the University of Ghana. He was also at the Strathmore University, Kenya for a module on Renewable Energy Economics in March 2020.
He is a Ph.D. candidate at the Centre for Petroleum, Energy Economics and Law at the University of Ibadan where his research focuses on arbitration of energy disputes.
His hobbies include travelling, meeting people, and mentoring.
He is married and the union is blessed with seven children.
